We were given the opportunity to review the multi award-winning and nominated film The Girl On the Train. I’d been waiting ages to watch this movie I missed it in the cinema so when this opportunity came about I was excited.
I’ve heard so many people talk about how amazing the movie is and I 100% agree with them.
Here is a clip from the movie – If you want to be in for a surprise don’t watch it but it will give you an insight into the characters.
Rachel Watson (Emily Blunt) is infatuated with the seemingly perfect couple she sees from her daily commuter train that runs past their house. One day, she witnesses an event on the balcony of the house that disturbs her deeply and in that moment, everything changes.
Driven by intrigue, passion and a thirst for the truth, Rachel becomes increasingly embroiled in the trials and tribulations of the couple she’ s watched from afar for so long. She soon discovers that the couple’s destiny is intrinsically linked to someone from her past, and inevitably realises that the demons that have plagued her since the divorce are not what they seem.
Also starring Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 7, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), Haley Bennett (The Equalizer, The Magnificent Seven), Justin Theroux (The Leftovers, American Psycho), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Florence Foster Jenkins), Edgar Ramírez (Joy), Allison Janney (The West Wing) and Lisa Kudrow (Friends). The Girl on the Train is slick, dark and sexy and is THE thriller to watch and own this Valentine’s Day.
Based on the best-selling novel by Paula Hawkins.
THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN is available on Digital Download, Blu-Ray™ and DVD Now
Review: No Spoilers
I put my hands up and admit I’ve not read the book, I’m not a book reader and I’d rather sit and watch a movie then read a book – So I’d hardly ever be able to compare books and movies.
I watched the movie with Mr B and we spent most of the beginning of the movie trying to figure out what was up with Rachel (she seems very strange) but we soon figured out what on earth was going on with her. Then the questions started rolling in and 2+2 became 6, and then it clicked for me. The movie storyline was very well thought out. Mr B didn’t get it till right at the end – not blowing my trumpet or anything but *massive smiley face*
I love the twists and turns in the movie – Keep your eyes and ears peeled! You won’t want to miss a thing & I’m actually really impressed with the ending. I’m usually REALLY disappointed in film endings of recent but this one was ace. You’ll be shouting Yessss!
This is a perfect movie for an at home date night (we have a lot of those).
With the 14th of February around the corner this is the perfect thriller to watch this valentine’s day.
Have you seen this movie yet?
Would love to know what you think.
