Nothing beats the summer heat like a divine, refreshing cocktail. Quench your thirst with some of Quintessentially Lifestyle’s favourite rooftop bars delighting London this summer. Grab a drink, sit back, and decide which of these summer best rooftop bars hot spots you’ll be heading to first.
Perched atop the Crowne Plaza London – The City, Galadari will feature a chic rooftop bar and restaurant, overlooking iconic London sights, such as St. Paul’s, The Shard and Tate Modern. Galadari is intended to emulate a luxurious, penthouse experience; it has been designed to feel like an apartment to make you feel right at home. Expect a lengthy list of creative, signature cocktails, which you can pair with the gourmet Japanese cuisine that the restaurant will offer.
Gansevoort Hotel Shoreditch London
The Gansevoort Hotel Group is expanding into Europe, first stop: Shoreditch. The hotel will emulate the urban glamorous vibe that the Group is known for; it will feature 120 rooms, but most importantly it will have an expansive rooftop pool, lounge and bar. Designed to mimic the iconic rooftop pool area that has given the New York hotels fame, we’re sure the roof of the Shoreditch location is going to be a stunner. Located in a vibrant area, this rooftop will be the perfect place for any summer celebration.
D&D Granary Square Restaurant
This summer, the restaurant group D&D London is set to transform the famous, 10,000 square foot German Gymnasium into a collection of dining venues. We’re expecting great things from D&D London’s new venture, which plans to have a 150-cover brasserie as well as a smaller restaurant and private dining accommodations on the mezzanine level. The unique, historic venue in tandem with the diverse dining options make this new London locale a must see. Obviously, the outdoor terraces are an important draw as well; with plans to seat 70 outside, this will be the ultimate summer spot.
The first London Art’otel is planning to open this summer in the Hoxton area. The important part: a modern restaurant and bar located at the top of the 18-story building. This is the perfect location for art lovers as Art’otel is known for featuring one artist’s work throughout rooms, common spaces, and of course, the spectacular rooftop bar.
From the restaurateur that brought us The Dock Kitchen and Rotorino comes this new cafe located near the North Greenwich pier. We love it because of the brilliant terrace and bar that boasts uninterrupted views of the Thames River. The design is also being created in collaboration with the Design Research Studio, so we’re sure the interior of the cafe will rival the outdoor spaces.
We’ve found the perfect warm weather locale for any wine lover. This spring, the popular wine bar chain, Vinoteca, is opening their fifth site at a prime location in the new King’s Cross development at 1 Pancras Square. This location will be their largest, and it will be home to an impressive wine bar, restaurant, and ample wine shop. However, what sets this location apart is the 30-seater terrace, which is the perfect spot to enjoy your favourite glass of wine under the summer sun.
Pierre Condou restaurant
While this restaurant remains slightly mysterious, it’s definitely one to watch. Created by the same man that brought us Paramount and Century Club, we’re expecting this restaurant to be the new west end hangout. With seating for 100 in the courtyard, and only 30-40 inside, there is a clear focus on outdoor dining and drinking, which is what peaked our interest. There are talks of a premium wine and beer list, as well as fun, low-key cocktails. It sounds like the best of both worlds to us.
Soho House City Hotel
In the coming months, the old Midland Bank is undergoing a transformation into a hotel. The site will soon be the home of The Soho House City Hotel, which will have a plethora of new restaurants and bars. The new hotel will house a unique bar, located in the same vault that the James Bond Film, Goldfinger, was filmed, as well as a remarkable rooftop bar that will feature trendy vibes and delicious drinks. The modern remodel will definitely be exciting to check out this summer.
José Pizarro, the same man that brought us José and Pizarro, is back at it again, with his new venture: José Pizarro. The new site will be located near Liverpool Street Station, and it is his first in the City. In accordance with his Spanish style, the restaurant and bar will be open all day serving up delicious Spanish delicacies with a modern twist. Pair your meal with a beverage from the extensive drink menu, which will focus on Spanish wines, cava, and beer. Jose Pizarro will be one of the flagship restaurants in the new Broadgate Circle development, and it will have room for 65 diners as well as a large outdoor terrace overlooking the ice-rink area of the development.
