5 Family Friendly Attractions in London for Movie Lovers

Keeping everyone in the family happy when planning a day out can seem like a bit of a tough challenge, but we think we might have nailed it. If you’re a family of film lovers like most of us, why not plan a special day out in the capital around one of your favourite flicks?

We’ve put together a list of 5 of the best family friendly attractions in London that are perfect for movie lovers of all ages!

1. Harry Potter London Bus Tour

We couldn’t start this list with any other film than the beloved story that’s captured the hearts of children and adults alike all across the globe – the story of an ordinary boy who discovers at age 11 that he has a rather extraordinary gift! The 3 hour tour takes you along some of the most iconic locations and settings from all 8 movies, and there’s the opportunity to purchase merchandise at the end.

2. Movie Moments at Sky Studios

Delight your little ones with the help of the geniuses behind your favourite films such as X-Men, Planes and Frozen as you take them on an interactive journey through one of London’s most iconic arenas – The o2. They’ll have the chance to play interactive games, see life through the eyes of Wolverine, try their hand at reporting at the Sky news reader’s desk and take the ultimate selfies with their favourite characters. The best part? It’s completely free!

3. Madame Tussaud’s Star Wars Exhibit

That’s right; your favourite Star Wars heroes and villains are coming to London’s famous Madame Tussauds on Saturday May 16th. The first wax figured to be revealed in the exhibition will be Yoda; depicted in an atmospheric recreation of his famous Dagobah swamp scene, with the other beloved characters not far behind. Book online to jump the queues as best as possible, and for discounts.

4. Frozen: Sing-along

It’s pretty fair to say that last year, the world went slightly Frozen crazy, and it’s showed no signs of slowing down (sorry mums and dads). If you’ve been struggling to get that song out of your head for a year, I’m afraid to say it’s unlikely to be going anywhere, as one of the top movie events we found in London was a Frozen Sing-along. Complete with lyrics on screen, the whole family can sing along with Elsa, Anna and Olaf!

5. London Film Museum: Bond in Motion

James Bond fans of all ages will go crazy for this event, as the London Film Museum plays host to the largest collection of official Bond vehicles seen in London, including the archetypal Bond car, the Aston Martin DB5, Goldfinger’s majestic Rolls-Royce Phantom III and the unforgettable Lotus Esprit S1 submersible from The Spy Who Loved Me. Due to popular demand, the exhibition will be here for an extended period, and it’s advisable to book online in advance to avoid queues and disappointment.
