From time to time being a part of the stream team I was invited to Netflix Original events and including Orange Is the New Black and All Hail King Julien. This time it was to one of their brand new original series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt at The Soho Hotel in London. The afternoon was an exceptionally
good great it was full of wonderful women, amazingly tasty drinks, incredibly tasting food and three full episodes of the loveable and somewhat relatable Kimmy Schmidt.
Kimmy was kidnaped and kept in an underground bunker in which she lived with 3 other women over a period of 15 years being told there was an apocalypse which wiped out civilisation until they were rescued. Kimmy Schmidt then decided to move to New York City to have a some what ‘normal’ life now she was no longer a mole woman where she meets new BFF and now roommate Titus Andromedon. Getting a job as a babysitter for the very
rich wealthy Mrs Voorhees, the wife of a millionaire who has his fingers in many pies. She goes through tons of new life experiences that would break the most people but that Kimmy is rather remarkable and extremely unbreakable just like us Mum’s really – But she is WAY cooler and handles things better than me, Just Saying.
I’ve watched ALL episodes and I’m actually surprised that I was so hooked on a comedy – I more of a Drama or Horror kind of girl I wouldn’t actually sit there and binge watch a comedy. Netflix have some many shows up their sleeve and I’m literally in owe with what they have on offer. It’s safe to say all ends well, but you can find that out for yourself … Oh Kimmy, how I will miss you!
If you have a sense of humour and love to hear other people’s take on life (people who have lived in a bunker for 15 years) then this is a perfect light-hearted, controversial at time show for you. I love Titus (the gay black BFF roommate) he is so fegging funny and the fact that his name is Titus in real life makes him even more loveable.
Again thank you Netflix for the amazing #UnbreakableMums event – Kimmy is pretty darn unbreakable after all she’s been through she still keeps prodding along. Pretty much just like us mum’s right?! I made a little blog of the day if you’d like to have a little watch.
If you’re not subbed to my channel go right a head below – I’ll let you in to a little secret … its free shhh! Don’t tell everyone though.
Here are some snaps from the event, its main Laura, Jessica and Myself. That was my first time meeting Jessica from Lilypod and Sweetpea a fellow blogger and vlogger. It felt like I had known her for a while, lovely, bubbly, fun lady – Go check her out if you haven’t already.
What’s you’re favourite show you like watching on Netflix? If you don’t have Netflix yet… why not? Its only £6.99/month and there’s pretty much for everyone. I’m going to be updating more on what I’ve watched you’ll be so surprised at the range of great TV Shows and Films.
If you want to see more Netflix posts type Netflix or Stream Team into the search box.
Until Next Time… Charlotte x
