Good Evening all,
I was given the opportunity to test out some lovely bits from the charming Betty Crocker collection. I’ve always wanted to get my Baking With Betty Crocker on – I knew my wish would come true!
Included in the lush collection:
– Classic Vanilla Cake Mix
– Red Velvet Cake Mix
– Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
– White Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix
– Chocolate Fudge Icing
I am not much of a cake lover but I thought I’d get my domestic goddess on and bake some cakes and by golly gee whizz it’s been fun & my inner creative woman has started to come out.
So far I have discovered that I can make cupcakes out of cake mix and, not to leave cookies in the oven and play with Hayden and his new Playmobil toys – They will get burnt! But because I’m a genies I made it looks ridiculously pretty and they still tasted awesome!!
Here’s the fun I had making the White Chocolate Chunk COOKIE Mix.
All you need is:
– 1x Pack of Betty Crocker’s White Chocolate Chunk COOKIE Mix
– 30ml water (2 tbsp)
– Standard baking tray
That’s it’s no, word of a lie!
It’s suppose to look like the cookies on the packaging but clearly I got carried away and that’s not at all how they turned out. I also eat them without the ice cream, fruit and chocolate sauce and they tastes beautiful. If you’re having a gathering or party and need cookies then they are perfect as they take no longer then 5 mins to rustle together and then another 10-12 mins to bake in the oven.
Guys, Imagine leaving these bad boys for Santa come Christmas Eve *wink*
Up next we have the spooky fun I had using the Classic Vanilla Cake Mix.
All you need is:
– 1x Pack of Betty Crocker’s Classic Vanilla Cake Mix
– 60ml vegetable oil (4 tbsp)
– 180ml water
– 3 medium free range eggs
– 1 tub of Betty Crocker™ Chocolate Fudge Icing (but only a bit to save for the brownies)
– 2 x 8″ cake tins
– Cupcake wrappers
– Sprinkles & other fun edible decorations
A bit more than the cookies but totally worth it.
I may have gotten a bit carried away with all the decorating but it was Hayden’s first proper Halloween so wanted to put in extra effort. I think I did a pretty awesome job too if I do say so myself.
The cupcakes turned out huge, a lot bigger then I expected but I surely wasn’t complaining at all. The bigger the better – they tasted absolutely divine! I’m going to go and by another packet of the same Classic Vanilla Cake Mix and make the cake with the Jam in the middle (watch this space)
It took me about 30 mins in total including cooking time which was awesome!
Next time I’m absolutely getting the NEW Vanilla Icing with Rainbow sprinkles. I think the cake will look amazing!
I love the range that we’ve tried out so far. I still have to use the Red Velvet Cake Mix & Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix too, they will come in separate posts do keep you’re eyes out for them. I will get my creative one and make them festive for you guys!
It’s so easy to rustle up these tasty treats especially if you’re in a rush or better still a newbie baker like me.
Until Next Time… Charlotte x
