Schools out for summer for most of you lovely lot!
My baby will be starting pre-school in September – I’m not sure how I feel about it but I know right now I’m getting anxious thinking about it.
This is now my 2nd month as part of the Netflix Stream Team and I am still loving it – Will I stop loving it … I doubt that very much!
As part of my package I was gifted a Apple TV, before I spoke to the team I had no idea what one is and now its my new best friend. I am able to use it to watch Netflix straight from my TV or use the app via my phone or iPad and stream it wireless, pretty awesome huh?!
What we’ve been watching on Netflix
For the little ones:
Hayden is absolutely loving Bubble Guppies and I’ve just introduced him to Dora the Explore. I am actually a big fan of Bubble Guppies. Its really educational and the songs and dances he finds absolute funny! He gets up and starts dancing like a mad man. My first time watching Dora The Explorer was last week and I was helping Hayden learn Spanish – It was so cool! We had to figure out if we needed the big piece or the small piece of wood to fix the bridge – Its like playing a PC game.
For the grown ups:
Chaos breaks out in a small Maryland town after an ecological disaster occurs.
This pretty much speaks for itself, It is a little bit budget but the story line is pretty cool if you like small town outbreak movies.
Kate and Martin escape from personal tragedy to an Island Retreat. Cut off from the outside world, their attempts to recover are shattered when a Man is washed ashore, with news of airborne killer disease that is sweeping through Europe.
Absolutely loving American Horror Story & if it wasn’t for Netflix I don’t actually think I would have watched it. I watched Season 1 Episode 1 ages ago on Sky and loved it but then didn’t have the time to sit down and watch all the other episode – I didn’t find it a priority.
Season one is about a family going through dramas and their answer is to move to a new state, new town, new house. But the house is a well dodgy (putting it lightly)
Season two is based on a mental institution set in 1964 my goodness! Its nuts (no pun intended) – I can actually image stuff like that going on in those times! Seriously, watch season two if you get the chance its the best one. The seasons are not interlinking so you don’t have to start with season 1. Plus a heads up, you will get some of the same actors from the first season in the 2nd so don’t get confused like I did LOL
Want something fun to do over the summer?
Strawberry-Yogurt Swirl Popsicles
Two cups of any type of berries can be used, whether that’s blueberries, blackberries, or raspberries.
Yield: 6 to 8 Popsicles, depending on mold size
1 cup chopped watermelon
2 cups sliced strawberries (about 1 pound strawberries)
3 tablespoons pomegranate juice
3 tablespoons honey, divided
1 cup dairy free yogurt
1. In the bowl of a food processor, add watermelon, strawberries, pomegranate juice, and 1 tablespoon honey. Process about 1 minute until mixture turns into a puree. Taste; add just a bit more honey, if needed; a lot of this depends on the sweetness of the watermelon and strawberries.
2. In a small bowl, combine together yogurt and remaining 2 tablespoons honey.
3. Fill the popsicle molds: First, pour the strawberry mixture in the bottom of each popsicle mold. Spoon yogurt into it; again, top with strawberry mixture and then yogurt. Use a wooden popsicle stick or a skewer to swirl the strawberry mixture and yogurt together. Place in the freezer overnight.
4. To remove from popsicle molds, hold under warm water until popsicle can be easily pulled free of mold. Serve.
