I absolutely love coffee, I never used to before I worked on the bar of my local cinema … one of the best jobs I’ve ever had, seriously. Great manager, awesome co workers and FREE FILMS! HA-HA.
Working on the bar I was taught how to make cocktails for the James Bond & Sex and The City Movies… too much fun and also there was a pretty nifty coffee machine too. I learnt how to make Expresso’s, Americano’s, Lattes, Cappuccinos… you name it I learnt it.
I have a pretty cool recipe I’ve picked up to share with you. You can use the infamous Caffe Cagliari, are a family company steeped in over 100 years of Italian history. Their capsules are Nespresso compatible too.
Makes 2 16oz Drinks
1 cup strong brewed coffee or expresso
1 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup vanilla ice cream
2-3 cups crushed ice
whip cream, cinnamon for garnish
Combine coffee, milk, and sugar in a blender until sugar has completely dissolved.
Add in your ice to the blender and blend on the high setting until smooth and frosty.
To finish off add some whip cream and cinnamon, if you wish.
Sounds pretty darn lush doesn’t it.
If you have a dairy allergy swap the milk for soya, almond or rice milk and leave out the whip cream.
For ice cream I use Swedish Glace which you can get from Sainsbury’s.
If you own a Nespresso machine the Caffe Cagliari works perfectly with them. Pretty darn awesome!
You can expect that
Every single cup is an exquisite masterpiece, the result of more than 100 years of knowledge and tradition.
In over 100 years of activity, Caffè Cagliari has focused its efforts on the production of Espresso coffee blends of constant and refined quality, endeavouring to improve the production process from raw coffee to the cup, and placing the same level of concentration on all phases: from processing (roasting, blending, packaging) to commercialisation, and to the extraction of espresso coffee.
I totally missed out on going to coffee school with some of my colleges so I can’t do all the fancy art work but here’s some really cool ones I’ve found. You can try doing them with your new coffee recipe.
