Family Fun in the Sunshine State

If you’re looking for a family holiday to remember, where the kids are entertained from dawn ’til dusk and the grown-ups have just as much fun, you can’t really go wrong with a Florida family holiday. It’s got the theme parks, the world-class attractions, the wildlife, the scenery… you name it, Florida’s got it! Talk about a holiday to remember.

So, what can you expect from a trip to the Sunshine State? In Orlando, there are several key resorts to choose from including International Drive – known fondly as I-Drive, Lake Buena Vista and Kissimmee. A stay in one of those resorts will put you and the kids right in the thick of the action, where the theme parks and attractions are all within easy reach. If you prefer more of a beach-centric stay, head to Tampa, St Petersburg or Clearwater for powder-soft sands and fabulous pristine shores.

By day, soak up the fun (and the sun) at SeaWorld, home to creatures great and small, or whisk the kids off to Disney for non-stop thrills in this vast theme park. Watch the little ones go wild on roller coasters and stomach-churning rides, before they take some time out to meet their favourite cartoon characters and to get their photo taken with none other than Mickey and Minnie.

When it’s time to explore a little more of Florida away from the theme parks, a trip to the Everglades is an absolute must. This huge nature reserve is a vast swamp filled with thousands of different species, from tall wading birds to fearsome alligators. Join a guide or an airboat tour to discover this incredible place and to get up close and personal with the park’s amazing wildlife.
And of course if all that’s a little too much like hard work, you could always flop out on the beach for the day and indulge in some real rest and relaxation, while the kids work hard on their sandcastle masterpieces and go paddling in the shallows.

So from non-stop fun in the sun to long lazy days on golden sands, Florida has so much to offer. When will you treat the kids to a family holiday to remember in the Sunshine State?
