Yummylicious Kiddylicious Snack Review

Kiddylicious

I contacted Kiddylicious about their range of Natural, healthy fruit snacks with no nasties for Hayden and they sent us these to try and review.
It’s been such a hard process to get Hayden to eat, let alone eat without having some kind of allergic reaction. If you have a child that is allergic to pretty much everything then you would know just what I mean. I think at least every other week Hayden has an eczema flare up when he tries something new. He finally has his appointment to see the allergists at The Royal London at the end of next month (July) so we will wait and see what he is exactly allergic to. He’s been such an amazing little trooper – So proud of him

I came across these Kiddylicious snacks in one of my weekly sda shops and I got Hayden the Apple & Strawberry Wiggles. I am a huge fan when it comes to snacking and I think main meals and healthy snacks play a huge part when it comes to Hayden having a goodnight sleep. I wasn’t too sure what to expect when actually opening a packet maybe like little fruit pieces or something but they actually look like little laces sweets – Pretty darn awesome.
With 100% honesty and in my opinion they taste really bitter, maybe because I have a sweet tooth but I gave it to Hayden he wasn’t a fan at first but over the duration of a couple of weeks he absolutely loved it –

The new products Hayden got to try were Smoothy Melts, Fruit crisps & Vegetable crisps.
I saw the smoothy packet and thought OH NO (as well as these packets are so cute), he can’t have dairy – turned the packet around to read No milk or Lactose – Woohoo! I just assumed (never assume) when you hear smoothy it contains milk but these really don’t none of their products do, thank goodness. Of course I tested them out too and the smoothy melts actually melt in your mouth. When Hayden first tried the melts he was surprised with the party in his mouth I’m sure LOL I could tell because he made a face ever time he put one in his mouth.

I was extremely impressed with the fruit and veg crisps … not fruit and veg flavoured crisps. They are actually pieces of fruit and veg made into crisps shapes. They tasted absolutely lovely, how can I put it, they tasted healthy. I think at times they tasted sweet, bonus if you ask me.
Brilliant that they are also part of your 5 a day.

  3. That’s genuinely very interesting, I thought the same thing when I saw the word “smoothie”! My daughter has a dairy allergy and it took us so long to get anyone to take us seriously and oh the packet reading *weeps*

  4. Great review thanks!

my girls love the smoothie melts

  6. Oh! fab! I’ll look these up next time I’m in Asda, they look perfect for packed lumches 😀

  7. I was a bit cross that although these clearly say on the bag ‘no nuts, no seeds’ in tiny writing at the bottom it says produced in a factory that handles nuts and seeds. VERY misleading.

    • OH NO! Is your child allergic to nuts or seeds?

When I spoke to the allergist about this he said that companies must state if the factory’s that produce products with no nuts manufacture other products which contain nuts in case of accidental cross contamination, which is very unlikely.
But completely understandable, Before I knew if Hayden was allergic to nuts I wouldn’t give him anything with it in the ingredient nor anything that was produced in a factory which handles nuts – IT WAS SO HARD!! We have to read every single print to make sure it’s fully clear of anything that could cause an allergy 🙁

A lot of them say dairy free and contain egg (Only now do I know eggs are not dairy but still you would assume the two go together)

I do understand where you’re coming from its just so hard xxx

    • Though it might seem confusing, I believe the packaging aims to be better safe than sorry. Though there are no nuts of seeds involved in the manufacture, cross-contamination has been known to happen in cases where non-nut food has been packaged in factories which also do nut products. I think its actually aiming to be as open as possible to avoid any accidental reactions
