I was recently approached by the lovely ladies at Nailgirls London.
Nailgirls London was created by two sisters, Jo and Lynda-Louise Burrell, as a reaction to the nasty, toxic, nail wrecking polishes and spas currently saturating the beauty market.
It’s totally understandable that mums and mums-to-be can feel hesitant towards wearing nail polish during pregnancy and after birth, but the Nailgirls formula insures that the polishes is free from harmful chemical nasties, such as formaldehyde and toluene.
My nail varnished arrived in two little packets with a cute little booklet that describes all the information on How To… (I wont ruin it but) I loved it. A perfect little touch. I was so excited to get the varnish out of the packaging and start using it.
I got to choose two colours from the website – It was such a hard task only because there was so many awesome colours to choose from. I eventually went with Red #3 Louboutin Red & Blue #4. shimmering Blue Grey … Pretty darn cool huh?
One of the main reasons I was contacted by Nailgirl was because I am a mummy blogger & they were after a blogger of the Month … Of course I said yes. How exciting right.
Concept – The blogger reviews the polishes and also design some kind of awesome nail art. Takes a few snaps which will then be put to print and onto bunting to hang up in the Nailgirls spas. The design style will then be offered as a choice of nail art in spa’s.
My chosen design was the main red colour with the silvery blue tip. I’ve never attempted nail art before, this was my first time and I have to say I was mighty impressed. I showed off my skills on my Instagram and the feedback was really lovely – love you guys.
So here the story ladies, mum’s & mum’s to be can still stay on trend and treat themselves to a relaxing manicure or pedicure. As an added bonus, the nail polishes is formulated to help improve your nails, meaning that they could be really beneficial for nails that have been left weak and damaged after pregnancy.
As well as all these amazing goodies mum’s in London can also enjoy the ‘at home’ service, which is a god-send for mums who find the thought of maneuvering a buggy into a salon and entertaining a toddler whilst their nails dry!
Overall I am very impressed with the nail varnish that I have reviewed. It took a while for it to chip and it was so easy to apply. I’m not too sure what I was expecting in terms of smell (maybe something without a scent) but it did still smell like nail varnish.
I love the finish of the varnish on my nails, I didn’t use a top coat and it was still really shiny and stayed on for long. I purposely didn’t use gloves while washing up just to test it HAHA
