Sipping Tea with Holly Willoughby‏ Windows and Bounty Mums

As some of you may know I got invited to an exclusive, intimate round-table discussion and afternoon tea by Microsoft with a panel of Bounty mums and TV presenter and mother, Holly Willoughby.

Over a delicious afternoon tea we discuss how the latest smartphone technology can help busy parents keep kids entertained. We will also talk through research revealing parental phone phobias, and we’ll showcase the Kid’s Corner feature on Windows Phone, which stops kids from making accidental phone-calls, misdirecting emails and making unapproved purchases.

In addition, we were offered the opportunity to receive a complimentary brand new Windows Phone 8x by HTC handset

The afternoon was so insightful & with my upcoming business venture in the pipeline I think I’ve found my new best friend. I have been using my iPhone for about 4 years now and I never actually thought about switching to a different brand such as a Windows or HTC. So once receiving the phone it was all new to me. I couldn’t wait to get home, take it out the box and play around with it.
Rovi was well impressed with my new piece of technology and was fiddling with it before me HAHA

So I’ve had the my New Windows phone for about two weeks now & I think I’ve pretty much got to grips with it. It wasn’t hard at all and during the sit down lunch we were given a demo on who everything worked

Features I Love:
– Syncs with PC via SkyDrive for Photos & Documents
– Syncs with Calenders so I have my appoitments & events on both PC & Phone automatically
– Change colour themes at a touch of a button

– Connect my work emails via Outlook
– Play games listen to music & via the Xbox app
– Amplified by Beats Audio
– Kids Corner/Guest Corner
– Texture of the phone
– Screen reslution
– Photo & video quality

Features I Dislike:
– More compatible apps (Instagram, Pinterest)
– Easier closable web pages
– More memory maybe Micro SD Cards (I take LOADS of photos & videos)
– Option to turn vibrate off (Or maybe I just haven’t figured that bit out yet – If you know PLEASE TELL ME)

Kids Corner
I guess all of us have wished at one point that you could have two login screens on your phone. Wouldn’t it be great to have an option where we could only allow people to see what we want them to see? Well good old Windows 8 phones now have this option called Kids Corner. It’s a section of the phone which allows you to have multiple logins for guests & kids to use.

“Microsoft’s Kid’s Corner makes it possible to set up more than one account. So, your friends, your kids, or anyone who grabs your phone can only see what you want them to see. Got an app you want to hide? Go ahead and hide it. Something else you don’t want someone to see? Make it disappear. If this sounds like the phone feature you’ve been waiting for, you’ll love the Windows 8 phone.”

What phone do you have? Are you happy with it?
Did you test out the Windows phone demo? If so what’s your favourite feature?

I’ve very little understanding of computer programming but I had been hoping to start my own blog in the near future. Anyhow, if you have any ideas or tips for new blog owners please share. I understand this is off subject nevertheless I just wanted to ask. Many thanks!
